The 2011 Fleet World Honours have been announced, the fleet honours award car manufacturers, parts suppliers and service departments in predetermined categories for their influence in the fleet sector.

In this year's awards the Nissan Leaf has been awarded the environmental award and the Nissan Qashqai in Cardiff has been awarded with the accolade of Best SUV. With the fleet sector now in apparent recovery after a couple years of turmoil, it is a crucial time for Nissan to have these two models recognised. It will grab the attention of fleet drivers and fleet managers.

Fleet World editor, Steve Moody, said: "Until the Nissan LEAF, electric cars have been a consideration for only the most particular role in a business. Now though, the LEAF's practical, four-seat configuration, clever use of iPhone integration and sat nav, as well as class-leading range mean that more fleets will be able to use an EV. And as an added bonus, it's great fun to drive too."Fleet World editor, Steve Moody, said: "Until the Nissan LEAF, electric cars have been a consideration for only the most particular role in a business. About the Qashqai he said, "It continues to defy all attempts to knock it off its number one pedestal, selling in vast numbers, despite being in one of the most competitive sector in the market. Last year, more efficient new models helped keep it there."About the Qashqai he said, "It continues to defy all attempts to knock it off its number one pedestal, selling in vast numbers, despite being in one of the most competitive sector in the market. Both of these models are a breakthrough for Nissan, they have recognised the consumer's desire to sit higher up in a car and have all wheel drive ability. The Qashqai has filled this requirement very well. Nissan has also recognised that people want a practical electric car, the Leaf fills this requirement and over delivers.
